In the middle of the lake, busy packing cod, perch or other fish caught as bait. Then it suddenly becomes clear that you really have to do number two. What do you do for a living? Welcome to the world of mobile camping toilets.
It may not be the smoothest segment, but portable toilets are specifically designed for mobility and portability, making them mandatory for anyone involved in leisure activities such as camping, fishing, driving a motorhome and hunting.
In this article we present the Top 20 of the best portable toilets for camping and other outdoor activities.
We divide these porta-pots into three main categories to facilitate the search. So, instead of reading the whole article and trying to determine what is acceptable or not, simply choose the category that best suits your needs (and budget).
Let’s cut to the chase:
Which portable toilets are you looking for?
Bucket type portable toilets
In the broadest sense of the word, a bucket toilet is essentially a bucket or bucket for collecting faeces. This type of portable toilet is usually a quick solution in case of an emergency or when you are on the road.
It is also a step in the right direction for everyone involved in composting. Make sure you use disposable toilet bags on the bucket so you don’t have to worry. Also don’t forget where to dispose of your waste, preferably in specially designed landfills.
The biggest problem with these portable toilets is that urine and faeces are collected in the same container, causing a lot of unpleasant odors. Some cat nests can be useful for eliminating odours and also for absorbing liquids.
Pine needles and grass are just as effective as odour reduction. Another tip for odour control is to place a layer on the bottom of the bag, as it absorbs most of the liquid.
No electricity or water is needed to operate the bucket toilet. The good features of your new type of toilet bucket are also a leakproof lid and a seat to drain your urine.
Here is our best selection of the best portable toilets with buckets:
1. Food and luggage storage
- Reasonable price.
- It has a snap-on lid that clicks into the toilet bucket.
- Includes a metal handle for easy transport.
- It has a standard folding chair and upholstery to match most industrial hulls.
- The snap-on lid does not seem to lock properly, which can make odour removal ineffective.
- The toilet seat is a bit small for most people.
- Made of plastic, the components break easily.
Luggable Loo stands out from all the humidification and disinfection products manufactured by Reliance. At first sight it looks like a typical bucket, but in fact it’s more than that.
Luggable Loo is a portable toilet with bucket that can be used in tent caravans, boats and skirting boards, but also for fishing and hunting.
Easy to use
The Luggable Loo is easy to use thanks to its innovative and functional design. It has a sufficiently wide base so that it does not fall over or sink into the ground.
Its use is as simple as inserting a disposable bag and closing it with a click cover. Although the lid may block odours, it is important to consider using a litter tray or a mixture of pine needles and grass to absorb liquids and neutralise odours.
Luggable Loo has the ideal height for most people, so you don’t have to squat or sit uncomfortably while working.
This toilet bucket is an excellent portable choice for emergencies or to take a walk.
The Luggable Loo camera from Reliance Products is an access point for those looking for a portable toilet that is easy to clean and use.
Luggable Loo is especially suitable for those who want to enjoy a real outdoor experience without the comforts of home. With these bucket toilets you also have the opportunity to enjoy the much-needed privacy, unlike camping.
2. Carriage of goods for refuse collection
- Sufficient capacity of 5 gallons.
- Lightweight and compact.
- Has plastic/metal handles for easy transport.
- Has a stable folding seat with exchangeable cover.
- Actually, it’s just a bucket with a toilet seat.
- The shovel can easily be tilted.
Hunter’s Loo’s minimalist portable human litter box effectively implements the concept of the litter box so you can enjoy your free time for longer. It also comes with extra camouflage patterns for the hunter in you.
Lightweight and comfortable to wear
Hunter’s Loo is very light, weighs less than a kilo and has a metal or plastic handle for easy transport.
This type of toilet bucket has a traditional folding seat and a lid that closes the contents, so you don’t have to worry about spills or escaping odours.
Hunter’s Loo is another affordable and easy to use Reliance product. While other portable toilets don’t have enough flashes, Hunter’s Loo makes it easy and convenient for you to take your poop off.
As expected, the bucket seems a bit unstable, especially with its contents, so the toilet must be attached to the floor because it can easily tilt.
In addition, it is important to empty the toilet as often as possible and of course remember to use suitable towels.
3. Repair of bucket toilets for goods
- Easy to set up.
- Comfortable foam seat.
- The Gamma-Seal lid effectively retains odours and content during transport to the recycling point.
- Easy to clean components.
- The seat is not fully attached to the edge of the tray, which makes it difficult to attach the inserts.
- Not very strong, especially when applied.
Restop, a division of U.S. company Innotek Inc., specializes in the production of portable and disposable solutions such as Commode. At a height of 16 inches above the floor, the use of the products will give the impression that a domestic toilet is being used.
The toilet has a comfortable seat and an airtight damper cap that absorbs the contents and odours when it comes out.
The product can be purchased as a complete set with the included accessories or as a single product. Products include Restop 2 storage bags, storage bags, toilet paper and pre-moistened antiseptic wipes.
The manufacturer fully agrees with the design of the commode seat. It has an elastic foam seat that rests on the edges of the bucket. The foam is flexible and allows for easy folding of the storage seat.
In addition, the transition to this type of portable toilet will not be difficult because it has the same height as a standard toilet (16 inches).
The manufacturer also claims that the toilet can withstand a pressure of 300 pounds when tested for 10 hours. Although this is certainly impressive, we recommend that you try it before you draw any conclusions.
The product is convenient, easy to use and environmentally friendly, especially when used with their EPA-approved Restop 2 bags. The lid, made of a gamma lock, further illustrates why the chest of drawers is one of the best bucket toilets of all time.
This is a portable toilet suitable for shade, camping or when sanitary facilities are not an option.
However, despite its uniqueness, the foam seat causes some problems when using the chest of drawers. Because it just rests on the scope, you have to do a balance exercise to prevent you from failing.
4. Camco Portable Toilet bowl
- The chair is tightly closed at the height of the blades; there is no spillage when rolling over.
- That’s easy.
- Made of durable, UV resistant material.
- The seat is not very ergonomic for men.
- The seat closes too tight, you might even need a tool to remove it.
- The bags are sold separately, but 3 free samples are included in the price.
True to the brand, the Camco Portable Toilet is a bucket with lid suitable for all outdoor activities. Whether it’s camping, hunting, watching, fishing or even in emergency situations, Camco’s toilets should be.
The smooth inner surface of the bucket allows easy cleaning without having to wash or empty the contents. In addition, a 5-gallon bucket will be more than enough for the whole family without the inconvenience of transportation.
The seat and upholstery do not discolour and are not exposed to strong sunlight because they are made of durable, UV-resistant polypropylene material.
To lock everything in place, the seat snaps securely to the edge of the bucket, and to secure it in the smell, a lid holder is supplied. You will also receive three bags with your purchase to help you stay in control.
The Camco Bucket Toilet is lightweight and easy to store and transport. To further improve this system, a carrying handle has also been included.
Although we strongly recommend trying the Camco Portable Toilet Bucket, it is also important to point out some minor product defects.
Firstly, the oval seat would be more suitable for both men and women, because the current seat is not wide enough. Secondly, the labels are slightly overloaded; they are sticky and difficult to clean.
However, if you are looking for an accessible and convenient portable toilet that meets your nightly needs, then this is the toilet for you.
5. Basic Portable Travel toilet
- Great height.
- He’s versatile.
- There is a broad basis for better support.
- Removable container and lid; ensures easy, dirt-free cleaning.
- Plastic parts can break or crack over time.
- Poop kits are not included in the purchase.
- The removable lid of the bucket must be removed in order to use the toilet.
The Basicwise travel toilet is the only toilet on our list that adds a touch of style to the design of the basic bucket type. It has a removable container that is located under the toilet itself, which guarantees a little homely comfort when exploring the surroundings.
You can easily use 4 to 8 litre garbage bags on the bucket. In addition, the entire toilet system is lightweight and easy to transport in a carrying bag, which must be purchased separately.
Elegant but functional
Although Basicwise WCs are made of plastic, they are aesthetically appealing without compromising on functionality. It has a personalized detachable container, which also has a detachable lid that can contain any odour.
These toilets are the same size as your regular toilet and the floor is wide enough to provide maximum support. There is also a built-in toilet paper holder so you have everything at hand before you go to work.
This product can be used as a normal seat, especially for small children, when the lid is closed. Although it is not usable, you can always remove the removable bucket and use the Catholic toilet.
With a weight limit of 250 pounds and more, it can’t go wrong with Basicwise travel washrooms to meet all your sanitation needs when you’re on the move.
However, its use as a seat, especially for adults, is a bit odd, because the housing is not strong enough to carry that much weight. If space is limited, you may consider other options because the Basicwise chair is longer and the undercarriage is also wider than the top.
Top 10 Portable flush toilets
Portable flush toilets are more than normal bucket toilets and are designed to be as useful as possible for your outdoor activities. They bring flushing devices, toilet paper dispensers (in some cases) and toilet seats.
They are essentially of a two-chamber construction, with a sewage tank at the bottom and a fresh water tank at the top.
Toilet chemicals can still be used to liquefy waste, but the emptying process is usually dirty and smelly when it comes to portable rinsing containers.
The addition of a cistern, especially when it is full, makes the flush toilet heavy and cumbersome to operate. In most cases you will have to set it up in one place and probably use a shower tent above the toilet. These types of toilets are particularly suitable for recreational vehicles.
Below you will find our best mobile flush toilets:
1. Porta potti curve
- Ideal seat height and design.
- Battery rinsing and assistance for manual operation.
- Relatively high storage capacity; 4 gallon fresh water tank and 5.5 gallon wastewater tank.
- Available in grey and white.
- Easy to use and easy to clean.
- Covering a fairly large area; 17.6 inches high, 15.2 inches wide.
- A retention kit may be required to prevent the 5.5 litre water tank from tipping over, especially during transport.
- The brilliant design and additional features are available at a high price.
- The battery pump may break.
The Thetford Porta Potti Curve is a well-deserved reference in portable toilets. It is ideal for your camping, travel and boating needs.
The days of digging holes for cats in the wilderness or making 100 meters of fever to reach the toilet of the campsite are long gone.
Behind the curtain sits the curtain manufacturer Thetford Corp., an award-winning company for innovative and environmentally friendly products. Moreover, the characteristics of the curve are no less striking.
Simple but functional design
The elbow is supplied in a two-piece configuration: a fresh water tank at the top and a waste water tank at the bottom, which is easy to attach during installation. The rinsing system runs on batteries, but you can still wash the bowl manually.
In addition, you do not need to guess, fill or empty the tanks, as the curve contains a level indicator that turns red in due course.
The waste container is equipped with carrying handles to facilitate transport to a suitable discharge point, preferably a water supply system. The toilets are also fully enclosed, so you don’t have to worry about smells and splashes.
Curve also has extra features such as a hidden toilet paper roll holder and easily accessible inlets for the water tank.
If you are looking for a high quality portable toilet with as many household amenities as possible, then this is the best option. The Porta Potti curve is comfortable in any outdoor situation, in case of an emergency or for medical assistance.
Although it looks like an everyday toilet in the house, the bend is quite wide and may not fit most places in a tent or caravan. In addition, battery-powered parts should be subject to normal wear and tear over time.
2. Standard Camco Portable Toilet
- Looks like an ordinary apartment bathroom.
- Easy to clean and maintain.
- Has a lever for the flushing system.
- Very solid construction; can carry up to 330 lbs.
- Easy to set up and use.
- For most people, the bowl may not be deep enough.
- If the flush lever is operated too quickly, the unit may burst.
From an economical point of view, we have a standard Camco mobile toilet, filled with basic necessities to provide you with an outdoor chest of drawers. You can take advantage of the functional two-component configuration, light weight and compactness, all at a great price.
The polyethylene construction chosen by the manufacturer for this toilet offers exceptional portability. Camco portable toilets are compact and weigh just 11 pounds, making them easy to transport and store.
The two-piece construction places the 2.5-gallon tank at the top and the 5.3-gallon tank at the bottom for maximum stability. It also has locks for the extra security of two tanks.
To remedy the inefficiency of battery pumps, these portable toilets use a lever to pump water into the basin.
Cleaning and maintenance without loudspeaker
Most people are reluctant to use portable toilets because of the problems associated with their cleaning and treatment. Camco portable toilets are designed to solve such problems.
Emptying the holder is very easy with this toilet as it is simply unlocked and transported to a suitable recycling location using the handle provided. Each purchase includes a biodegradable toilet tissue that helps to dissolve and deodorize waste.
Also striking is the sliding mechanism at the front, which serves to catch odours and prevent leaks.
As more high quality portable toilets come on the market, this particular model makes it possible to control most compartments. The toilets are easy to clean, comfortable to use, light and well thought-out.
The biggest complaint most consumers have about standard Camco toilets is their flushing system. While the manual system is more convenient and functional, the flushing system makes a clean flush slightly more difficult.
The water is sprayed lightly from the front instead of the back, so you need to close the lid and also rinse the bowl before pulling the lever.
You can also get an even lighter version of the Camco Portable Toilet, which can hold 2.6 liters of waste, or a premium version with additional features.
3. Camco Premium Portable Toilet
- A multidirectional rinsing system that effectively cleans the bowl without splashing water.
- Large capacity tanks; 3.75 gallon wash tank and 5.3 gallon rack.
- Easy to clean and use.
- Swivel elbow joint for easy disposal.
- No electric flushing system.
- Waste disposal is not the best option.
With a slightly larger waste holding tank, ergonomic features and a new stylish design, welcome to the Camco Premium toilet. It significantly improves the poor feel of the standard version, for example, the washing system has been revised and significantly improved.
You immediately see that it is indeed a top quality product, because the overall design is focused on user-friendliness and ease of use.
First of all, the two main parts of the toilet are easy to install and remove thanks to the spring-loaded locks. In addition, these two reservoirs have sufficient capacity so that you can concentrate more on camping, hunting and boating.
The toilets are also equipped with a swivel joint, so you don’t have any trouble disposing of waste. Also included is a valve that is used for tightly placing odours and liquids in tanks.
Finally, the inner surface of the fairing is made of high quality ABS, so nothing sticks to it and cleaning is less intimidating.
Improved flushing system
This portable toilet is equipped with a non-functional flush system that makes it possible to use the toilet even in the most remote scenarios. It uses a pumping action to pump water from the tank into the bowl.
In addition, the system is equipped with three diverter channels, which provide an original but simple way to ensure that the bowl is properly cleaned every time it is rinsed.
Also striking is the sliding mechanism at the front, which serves to catch odours and prevent leaks.
With two flush options, a manual plunger and a battery pump, the Camco Premium toilet would be the icing on the cake. However, it contains many useful features and improvements over the standard model.
The most remarkable feature of this product remains the piston flushing system. The modern, curved design is also very well done. However, you would like to empty the waste storage tank as soon as it is halfway through, to improve the waste disposal process.
4. Tetford Port Potty Corp 365
- It has a comfortable height from the toilet and seat.
- Rotating spout for easy emptying.
- Large capacity tanks; 4 gallon fresh water tank and 5.5 gallon waste tank.
- Monobloc construction by seamless assembly of the two parts.
- Very sturdy; can carry up to 250 pounds.
- An additional stability kit may be required, especially when used on boats.
- Possible leaks over time at weak points such as closures, flushing handle and sealing of the storage tank.
Thetford Corp. is already a market leader in portable restrooms and other essential outdoor products, and Porta Potti 365 is another expression of their genius and ingenuity.
Porta Potti 365 is a portable family toilet that offers smart solutions to improve your outdoor activities. For example, the toilet has a flushing system with a piston pump, seamlessly connected components and a swivel spout, which is characteristic of the toilet.
Easy to use and clean
This special Porta Potti comes pre-assembled, so you don’t have to worry about going through endless manuals to do the same. It is equipped with standard locks on the bottom of the fresh water tank for quick and easy connection.
In addition, the hinged drain of the storage tank makes waste disposal extremely easy and comfortable. Toilet chemicals are also included to liquefy and deodorize waste and make it easy to dispose of. A carrying handle has also been integrated to facilitate the process.
Porta Potti is the right choice for those looking for a mobile flush toilet with a minimum of reservations. The flushing system of the piston pump is particularly effective at blasting the bowl, and the outlet is also welcome.
An indicator for the level of rinse water would be a good thing, but in general the port of Potti is a good buy.
Bonus Tips: Use a large amount of toilet chemicals to make emptying the tank easier.
5. PortableComposting toilet with natural head
- No unpleasant odours thanks to the composting effect.
- Made of resistant stainless steel.
- Enables quick disassembly when it’s time to empty.
- Has a full-size chair that lies down for comfort.
- It is not necessary to be connected to a water or sewage system.
- Environmentally friendly.
- Mould can still grow in your toilet.
- It is quite difficult to transport, especially when it comes to emptying fixed fuel tanks.
- You may need an extra bottle of liquid.
The composting toilet makes a black container superfluous, as it separates the waste into solid and liquid waste. This concept brings a lot of comfort and benefits, as you will see in Nature’s Head’s composting toilet.
Nature’s Head’s sanitary facilities are maintenance-free and odourless, so you can return to your entertainment without worries. The packaging contains a bottom sealed composting compartment for the storage of solids and a bottle for the collection of liquids.
Unlike a conventional toilet, Nature’s Head minimizes odors the longer it stays empty. Peat moss or coconut is used in combination with toilets to accelerate the decomposition of solids. The result is the smell of the earth, not poop.
A 4-gallon storage tank seems small at first sight. Surprisingly, 80 or more targets can be achieved by breaking down and compacting solid waste before the tank is emptied.
This toilet was originally designed for use in the marine environment. That’s why you can rely on durable stainless steel fittings. There are also lockable seals in the toilets so that you can empty the tanks without any problems.
The Nature’s Head composting toilet, designed by two old sailors, has been specially built to withstand the harsh conditions of the marine environment, but can also be used as an ideal toilet for caravans. It proposes a hygienic and ecological approach to waste disposal.
You can use it on a boat, camping, van, truck or even at home to replace a normal toilet. We cannot only recommend this portable toilet because of its effectiveness in controlling natural fragrances and its contents.
However, some minor inconveniences are to be expected, e.g. when using the product:
- Spraying vinegar or water to clean urine from the toilet bowl is simply not as effective as your traditional flushing system.
- You should empty the liquid tank as often as possible.
6. Palm spring Portable Toilet
- Lightweight and portable; weighs less than 10 pounds.
- Integrated handles for easy transport.
- Emptying the storage tanks is very easy.
- Toilet seat ideally placed for most people.
- Over time, leaks may occur, especially in the fresh water tank.
- Poorly designed parts; the flat plastic handle can break easily.
- The flushing system on the clearing arm can be somewhat complicated to use and sometimes requires extra effort.
Another decent toilet in Palm Springs. It has a classic two-piece design with blocking holes and a piston flushing system.
The Palm Springs toilet is very light and compact, making it easy to transport and store. The double-sealed valve prevents leaks and odours, so you can use it without worries on your boat, camping or any other outdoor installation.
It also has a sturdy full-size seat that supports both the size and shape of the buttocks and the corresponding upholstery. The toilets also have a matt surface to hide any scratches outside.
The 5-gallon waste and 3-gallon fresh water tanks are not only waterproof, but also made of high density polyethylene. In addition, the seating height of about 16.5 inches is comfortable for most people.
Palm Springs hand toilets are quite soft in design, apart from the matt surface, and do the job. It contains many standard features you would expect from a portable flush toilet, which is good news if you need to replace one of its components in the future.
This solution is relatively accessible and practical, but the cost reduction raises some questions. The pulley arm of the flushing system is not very user-friendly and multiple rinses may be required to clean the drum with solids.
7. SereneLifePortable toilets
- Has a flushing system for the piston pump.
- The kit contains a carrying bag.
- It has large-capacity tanks.
- Made of durable high density polyethylene.
- Fix the parts securely and disassemble them easily if necessary.
- Maybe there’s a leak in the water pump.
- The drain pipe is located uncomfortably at the top.
- For some people, the place is a bit small.
SereneLife Portable Toilets have a practical design and feature a spectacular box design with grooves and notches for manual options and locks.
It has found most of its features in good quality portable equipment, but the piston flushing pump and rotary exhaust nozzle are the most striking.
The tank of this model has a capacity of 5.3 gallons, which is certainly a long way to go before it has to be emptied. The fresh water tank can hold up to 3.2 gallons, or just over 50 rinses.
Easy to clean and maintain
The integrated three-way flush system keeps your SereneLife toilet clean and shiny. As we have found, the water jets from the pumping system are sufficient to remove solids from the vessel without the need for too much rinsing.
The discharge is accelerated and debris is eliminated by the included rotary discharge nozzle.
The SereneLife Portable Toilet is built to withstand the rigors of rough treatment thanks to its robust and durable materials. The toilets are made of high-density polyethylene, which in itself is corrosion-resistant and easy to clean.
A piston pump with rinsing and a splash-free outlet nozzle are sufficient reasons to use this product. However, these mobile camping toilets have more pleasant features and equipment, such as a level indicator on the storage tank and a three-way flush mechanism.
The SereneLife product is well designed and is certainly a good buy for those looking for a portable flush toilet.
8. Leopard toilet with open air T-jump ride
- It has a three-way washing system that enables efficient waste washing.
- Thanks to the raw polyethylene and the wide base, it has a solid construction and load-bearing capacity.
- Easy to use, easy to clean and easy to remove.
- has a leak-proof valve to prevent leaks and odours
- It has handles in the upper and lower compartments, making it very portable.
- Toilets do not have level indicators for fresh water or the waste water tank.
- The waste compartment does not have a suitable dosing device for emptying, so emptying with the inlet dosing device is somewhat unpleasant.
The Leopard Outdoor Portable Toilet is made of durable polyethylene, has a robust design and weighs a modest 11.5 pounds when empty. If you ask me, this is one of the most mobile camping toilets available on the market today.
The Type T is a flush toilet with 3 directional cistern heads, which cover the entire surface of the sink during flushing, small and easy to transport. You’ll never have to accept the disgusting appearance of leftovers on the scale again.
With 3 liters of fresh water and 5.2 liters of waste capacity, this is one of the most reliable camping toilets you can use for a while without worrying about a quick refill. Sealed doors protect against leaks and odours.
One of the most pleasant features of these toilets is the presence of handles on both sides, both in the lower and upper compartments. These compartments are separable, which not only makes this toilet very mobile, but also makes emptying and cleaning easier.
In terms of price, I found this model of the New Invention very affordable, especially when compared to analogues with similar characteristics.
The improvements to the Leopard Outdoor toilets are very justified, because the toilets are now easier to use than ever before. Reliability, portability and ease of cleaning are properties that are easily underestimated when digging deeper into these toilets.
It has a few minor flaws, but there’s nothing you can’t fix.
9. best choice products portable toilets
- It requires minimal assembly and is just as easy to use.
- An excellent washing system that ensures fast and clean laundry every time.
- It has a perfectly placed and comfortable seat.
- Has a water saving function.

It has a standard connection design with minor adjustments to improve overall toilet use. The portable toilet is made of polyethylene parts and can carry a weight of 440 pounds.
440 pounds! A bold statement, but one we can testify to.
In addition, the toilets are normal in size and very comfortable and are guaranteed to withstand any awkward shape and size. The toilet is 16 inches long and 14 inches wide, with a seat about 16.25 inches high.
High quality construction
For virtually odourless and airtight operation, Best Choice Products’ portable toilets feature robust containers equipped with double flush-side closures. The seal effectively prevents leaks and odours.
The large capacity fresh water tank allows up to 50 full rinses thanks to the creative double jet washing system.
Critics of Best Choice Products’ portable toilets agree that the ergonomics and portability of the product are particularly high. In addition, it has many useful features needed to survive outdoors without sacrificing too much comfort and convenience.
10. Sanitary installations Toilet table
- It has removable compartments, making it easy to empty and clean.
- Has a larger toilet seat, which is also suitable for larger people.
- Multi-directional coil piston.
- The levels of the sewage and water tanks can easily be read.
- The main raw material is inferior plastic.
- There is a lot of noise during flushing.
- Insufficient drainage to guide the waste when emptying.
The toilet bowl model of the sanitary visa has a deep cockpit, which enhances the comfort of the user. If you know how to flush the toilet when emptying your bowels, I’m serious. This model of toilet tries to avoid these inconveniences by offering a deep bowl that ensures that no water splashes on your buttocks.
Secondly, this toilet model is a flush toilet with a reproducible piston pump. It has a bi-directional rinsing system that improves the coating of the bowl surface, ensuring the highest level of hygiene (we all hate it when there are leftovers on the bowl surface after washing).
Easy to clean
Another feature of this model is the easy cleaning of the waste storage area. This compartment can be removed for this purpose.
In general, the potty model for sanitary ware is an affordable brand with a number of impressive features. Besides some bad premonitions, such as the absence of a moulded nose, plasticity and a flushing sound, this brand has many characteristics that will impress you.
In particular, it should be mentioned that it is suitable for chubby people because it has large toilet seats. The separate compartments make emptying and cleaning easy. The bi-directional flush plunger makes this toilet attractive because of the high level of cleanliness it can maintain.

- Secure the leg locking mechanism.

Another solution from Reliance Products, folding portable toilets, is the big winner in folding toilet seats. Two factors that make the difference for this toilet seat are the integrated carrying handle and the lockable folding legs.
You can use the compostable garbage bag by the toilet, or you can take an ecological approach by digging a hole under the seat. Whatever you do, and as long as you weigh less than 300 pounds, Fold-to-Go will be with you when nature calls.

At about 5 pounds, open-topped toilets are one of the lightest. This, together with the integrated carrying handle, increases its portability. In addition, you can set up and fold up the toilet in seconds.
When using the foldable toilet for the first time, some small problems may occur. In particular, the toilets are 3 to 4 inches shorter than the standard toilets, and their locking mechanism requires some practice before you can get used to it.

What if your briefcase was turned upside down by nature’s call so you could follow it? What if I told you there was a way? Well, not exactly, but the resemblance.
Compact folding toilet
From the design to the ergonomic handle, the Cleanswaste is a foldable toilet that when folded looks like a briefcase. In fact, it’s easy to confuse you with a CEO who wonders what you’re going to do with your portfolio.
This foldable toilet with 3 stable legs and sufficient upper size has an enormous weight (500 lbs). Finally a portable toilet seat for tall people. The strong, durable plastic it is made of collapses under any weight, even for a second.
You will also appreciate the locking mechanism with which the feet are equipped and the extra support provided by the lid of this floor toilet. They are toilets for many places, flat and uneven.
Comfortable and hygienic
The enormous size of the seat and tub of this toilet, combined with the convenient height above the floor, is everything that lights up your outdoor bathroom at home. Forget the toilets where you see your knees kissed every time you use them.
Only in the Cleanwaste toilet is the net holder for the balloon bag an intelligent housing that guarantees hygienic working. The seat fills the bag in the ring and ensures that it does not fall under the weight of your waste. Quiet, huh?
Now you can ask: Is clean waste a problem? The answer to that question is definitely no. Garbage bags not only cost a lot of money, but are also a bit uncomfortable to handle. But with a little practice you get used to playing.
Again, the Pure Waste toilet is heavier than other similar toilets. Just as it has a cool briefcase style design to increase its compactness and portability, you should wear it with its 7-pound weight. Not the best backpack toilet, but recommended for car camping.
4. 3-in-1 toilet seat
- Can be used in three configurations.
- Has a sturdy and lightweight aluminium frame,
- Ultralight and one of the best backpack toilets.
- The height of the toilet seat is much shorter than in the standard version.
- The 3-in-1 forms are usually exaggerated.
Trail Bum 3-in-1 is an ultra lightweight motorhome, disguised as three essential outdoor products in a compact unit. It can be used as a toilet, camping chair or table.
Robustconstruction with easy to usefunctions
The 3 in 1 model has a strong and durable aircraft aluminium frame with UV and water resistant tapes. In fact, the stress level can be up to 220 pounds in laundry/dining room mode and up to 3 pounds in dining room mode.
The frame is easy to adjust thanks to the wire construction and integrated lightweight slings.
The ability to set the camera to three different shapes may seem like a trick at first glance, but it can save your life, especially if you’re at a party with just one person. Trail Bum 3-in-1 has succeeded in combining most functions in a light and compact design.
5. Hovermaster Toilet with hands free toilet for Camping
- The lightest portable toilet.
- Specifies the specified hands-free experience.
- Made of solid materials; strong enough to carry a heavy weight.
- It is necessary to dig a hole under it and collect the waste if necessary.
- Cleaning after use can be very risky.
Finally, we have the Hovermaster 4000, which is a little further away than the Hovermaster 4000 to offer a hands-free mobile toilet. In fact, it helps you to get into a sitting or squatting position when doing business in an underground hole. It’s not really a toilet seat, but I had to force it into that category for convenience.
It comes in a zippered Cordura bag and has a durable fabric to support your weight on a wooden base or other disposable items. The bag also has side pockets for storing toilet paper, towels and disinfectants.
Hovermaster 4000 tests your balancing power and can easily be used as a gag gift. However, when nature calls and your bidet toilet is not available, it is time to turn off the Hovermaster 4000 and sit down in a crouching or sitting position.

Why didn’t we add Coleman Flushto the list?
Let me start by explaining why I didn’t include Coleman mobile flush toilets in our list of flush toilets.
To be honest, I have always been fascinated by Coleman’s outdoor products and I would like to give you a detailed look at Coleman Portable Flush Toilets. I’m sorry they couldn’t be on that list, but as you’ll soon discover, there are very real reasons why their toilets couldn’t be installed here.
Coleman belongs to the category of portable flush toilets and just doesn’t fit in the other toilets in this category.
In the beginning we had to absorb leaks regularly after every pumping movement, which was rather annoying. And then the pain of despair! When we brought the bottom bin to the dump, we had terrible leaks through the middle hole.
Also, the toilet is very short, which means your chin kisses your knees every time you use it. And if that’s not enough, the price of this toilet is divine. This is one of the reasons why Coleman’s bathroom couldn’t be on our list.
So I decided to write a separate review on Coleman’s bathroom. Here’s the article: Portable overview of Coleman’s bathroom.

We have done our best to select what we consider to be the best mobile camping toilets. These reviews are based on our own experience with Port-Pots and some user feedback.
They say opinions don’t lie, especially when most of them seem to be getting married. However, you should not take things as they are, but perhaps examine them more closely and find the exact factors that should guide you in your choice of camping toilet. Below are some basic considerations that everyone who wants to buy a portable toilet should keep in mind.
Purchase of mobile travel toilets: Factors to be considered
Whether you want to rent or buy a portable toilet, here are a few factors to consider before stopping by the brand:
1. Toilet price
For everything you buy, there is always a variation on price. The same goes for portable toilets.
Whatever the brand of the pot, you should always look in your wallet before telling the cashier what you get. Another thing to consider is to always have the best portable toilet in your budget.
Also check if your portable toilet is almost completely self-contained or if garbage bags are needed. Models that require handbags for tutus are more expensive in the long run because the purchase of the devices is a recurring cost factor.
Also check your toilet guarantee. Contact people with a longer warranty if it does not meet the stated expiry date. So you can be sure your money’s worth it.
2. Toilet size
The size of the portable toilet plays a role during transport and determines the ease of use.
There are three basic sizes and types of flush toilets:
- Standard model: This model is intended for the average person. If you’re a little taller, go to the portable jar with the big toilet seat.
- Deluxe model: Model is slightly larger than the standard model and has extra features such as a toilet paper holder.
- Deluxe model: for those who can afford it. The luxurious portable toilets are elegant and have most of the characteristics of a typical household toilet. Some are equipped with toilet paper holders and smooth surfaces in which you can put your soap and hand soap.
Ask yourself the following questions for all toilets in general:
- Is the toilet big enough to fit in the car?
- Is it comfortable enough to sit on the toilet seat?
- Does the toilet fit in your boat, van or tent?
Even if your budget is important to you, make sure you choose the right toilet size. Don’t get in trouble if you can help.
3. Duration of stay and number of persons
I combine these two factors because they have a lot in common. If you receive a large crowd for a short period of time, or a small crowd for a long period of time, or a combination of both, consider the ease of maintenance and flow of your potpourri.
Portable toilets with a large water and waste capacity, such as the 5.3 gallon Camco and New Invention models, are suitable for long periods of time and large crowds. It is also cheaper to buy pots in smaller ports, such as the 2.6-gallon Camco, for smaller crowds or shorter periods.
Look for models with an easy-to-read water level and waste level, so you know when to dispose of waste or fetch extra water. Portable toilets, which are easy to clean and efficient (less water to flush), are also more economical when working with weekly camps or with 100% crowds.
It is also a factor for each handicap in the amount you take. The portable jar used by a person in a wheelchair will be different from the jar used by a non-disabled person.
4. Portability and ease of use
Buy portable toilets that allow you to move around comfortably while meeting your standards, especially in terms of capacity. Some models weigh only 3 pounds and are easy to move, while others weigh up to 13 pounds, making them difficult to manoeuvre.
In addition to the weight, look how to move your pot to the harbour. Models like the Travel and Hassock fold and fit in your backpack, while some models like the ones in the waste bin set should be worn as they are. You should also bear in mind how easy it is to dismantle the toilet (once it has been disassembled) and reassemble it. See what’s best for you.
Portable toilets vary in weight due to the materials they are made of. Suitable for models that are light and strong enough to withstand severe weather conditions (especially when camping) and can carry both light and heavy weights. One of these port pots is the GAL Portable Toilet, which can hold up to 440 pounds.
There are several things to keep in mind when checking the design of a portable pot.
You must first check whether the pot has a bottom, and if so, whether the bottom is level. Dish floors can be somewhat difficult to use when laid on the floor. Always go to toilets with wider toilet beds, because they are more stable and you can’t tip over in your own rubbish.
Then check that the pot is designed to close off odours. Some models use bins to control odours, while others, such as the turbo toilet model, have chemicals on the floor that liquefy the waste and prevent odours.
Then you have to consider the hygiene of the port wine pot because of the design. Toilets with deep bowls are hygienic (not to mention convenient) because no water falls on your buttocks when you use them. In addition, port pots using waste sprayers are safer than kit pots, because in the latter case the waste has to be disposed of during landfill.
In addition, portable toilets with multidirectional flushing leave less waste after flushing, making them more hygienic when distributed over large crowds.
6. Is the toilet comfortable?
Don’t forget that you will use the portable toilet many times, so make sure you feel comfortable before you buy.
Comfort criteria are never fixed, but adapted portable toilets are easy to use because the dimensions and height of the toilet seat are comfortable for you. You will not flush if you hear it or complain if the toilet is uncomfortable for the eye.
Finally, choose a pot in the harbour that gives you some privacy, especially if your group is large. And don’t forget to ask if it’s environmentally friendly.
Finding out why you need a portable chest of drawers is usually a good start in the budgeting process. These toilets are widely used:
- For leisure activities such as hiking, camping, camping cars, hunting and fishing,
- For emergencies, such as natural disasters,
- For environmental reasons,
- For construction work and..,
- Otherwise, if your indoor installation is faulty.
Whatever the purpose of the portable toilet, it is important to include it in the final decision. Compost toilets are generally well suited for environmentally conscious people and a foldable toilet is easy to pack and take with you on a walk or boat.
8. Accessories and parts
Today you can buy many useful accessories on the market that will help you get the most out of a product. Portable toilets are no different, so don’t forget to include these costs in your budget.
Some of these accessories are: Urine drainage, toilet tent for campsite for privacy, quickly soluble/biodegradable toilet paper, toilet chemicals, balloon bags and deodorants.
As with everything else, some parts of portable toilets can break, become damaged or loosen as a result of using the toilet. The purchase of high quality portable toilets with standard components and parts makes it easy to find spare parts from different sources.
9. Composting toilet or regular toilet?
The essence of composting in toilets is that they use composting, or rather the decomposition of organic matter, as a method of treating faeces. The portable versions of these toilets are supplied separately, with a solid fuel tank and an additional liquid tank.
Benefits of compost toilets
The arguments for composting are listed below:
- No water is needed for rinsing.
- A black tank is not necessary because liquids and solids are separated from each other and therefore no waste water is produced.
- No chemicals are needed, just use the composting agent and everything is ready.
- Easy to dispose of; waste can be disposed of anywhere, e.g. liquids can be thrown into any toilet, and solids – now compostable – can be thrown in the bin.
The most commonly used composting agents are coconut bark and sphagnum peat moss. The use of the first is highly recommended because it is environmentally friendly and odourless and, as with the second, has a low risk of insect larvae.
Portable composting toilets are also odourless because they have a small extraction fan. The fan eliminates odours, keeps the inside of the toilet dry and draws in fresh air. An extraction fan also prevents the formation of mould in the toilet.
Defects in composting toilets
However, these types of toilets also have certain limitations, as described in this document. First of all, the liquid tank must be emptied regularly, at least during the day, which can be a bit uncomfortable.
Emptying the solids tank can also lead to vomiting due to a terrible smell as soon as you open the lid to put it back on. However, with sufficient use of the composting medium, the smell of soil or dirt increases.
In addition, emptying can be a bit cumbersome as the waste has to be disposed of in a garbage bag and the composting medium has to be treated, rehydrated and filled into a tank.
In fact, this process can take up to 30 minutes or even an hour, fortunately you usually do it once a month if you have a small family.
Finally, you will also want to use very little water to rehydrate part of the compost environment, otherwise you may have problems with the growth of moulds as the compost progresses.
The composting toilet is most suitable for dry, splash water tourists and for those looking for a more economical mobile toilet.
Compared to compost toilets, conventional toilets can emit a slight odour due to the accumulation of waste water in the compost bin during normal use. The use of strong chemicals will be very important, especially for odour control.
In addition, a flushing system must be installed for the use of a normal toilet. This means that depending on how often you use the toilet, you will have to fill the tanks as often as you use the toilet.
Emptying the black tank requires access to the landfill and is usually a simple process that does not take too much time. A normal portable toilet would be ideal if you don’t want to spend more time and money on composting toilets.
In today’s sea of misinformation, a thorough understanding of everything to do with a product helps you to limit yourself to the best.
There is no doubt that a portable toilet is a necessary item to have, whether for emergencies or for use in recreational facilities. We hope the above information will help you choose the best portable toilets for your camping experience.
